i don’t remember where i got this tidbit (maybe moodgym?), but i think it’s great. found it when cleaning up some docs.
the WUTIWUF strategy. (What-you-think-is-what-you-feel). What you think is what you feel is not a new strategy. Shakespeare, for example, gave Hamlet the following lines “There is neither good nor ill but thinking makes it so”. Here he recognised that it is one’s interpretations of events rather than the quality of the event that determines their emotional impact.

so are all you peace-loving hippies going to say we shouldn’t intervene in sudanese genocide?
the US isn’t just a major world power…we’re a contributer of humanitarian aid. i would consider removing genocidal powers (govnerments) as humanitarian for the people of those nations.

i wonder why moore didn’t include things like this in his movie. while many can think about only destruction in iraq, there is still much CONstruction.
we must see the light that casts the shadows. you cannot have one without the other. while war is never a good alternative, sometimes it is necessary. and sometimes, people give their lives for a greater good than most can even imagine. i’m sure those 7 men would agree.

it’s amazing to me that some people, when they take their computer(s) apart, they can’t put them back together. i just finished transferring my computer to a “new” (used) case. hopefully, this one will help keep it cooler. it’s a little bigger and all aluminum. baby’s got new clothes!
i’ve had people come to me and say “my boyfriend was trying to see if X would work in our computer. he unplugged the A cable and decided not to go through with it. he plugged everything back up, and now it doesn’t work!” wtf?
first, it’s very difficult to fix a computer without it in front of you. the general public does NOT understand this. second, it’s even more difficult to explain to someone (who’s virtually technically inept) how to fix it when they get home.
some days…it sucks knowing all that i do about computers. and people don’t even realize most problems are solveable by a simple google search. and not fiddling with their computers without knowing what they’re doing.

It is the summer of my smiles – flee from me Keepers of the Gloom. Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune. Ain’t so hard to recognize – These things are clear to all from time to time.

i saw a pt cruiser today with “vintage edition” painted on it in classic 50s style writing. funny since the car is so young and it’s not really the hotrod that people wish it was. more like mini van, if you ask me (i have driven one and affirmed this assessment).

if you haven’t heard anything from velvet revolver yet, you should download some or go to their website and check out the slither video. (best viewed in IE…some features don’t work in firefox)
this is guns n’ roses + stp!! i really dig it. check out “who we be” on their website. though it may hurt your neck to read it, i recommend you read the entire piece on who they are as a band and as people. i think it’s pretty freakin’ cool.
welcome back rock!

this article by william f. buckley, jr. caught my eye. i haven’t read much of his work, but i’ve read several articles this afternoon and am very impressed. i enjoy reading his work and feel he is intelligent in the things he says.

while i’m a huge advocate of firefox (any alternative to internet explorer), i’m not a big fan of the newest version, 0.9.
pros:
1- it’s not internet explorer.
2- it’s not a security vulnerability like internet explorer.
3- it’s faster than internet explorer.
4- it’s NOT internet explorer.
5- it’s probably the best pop-up blocker i’ve ever used without having annoying toolbars or noisy 3rd party processes hogging my cpu and ram.
cons:
1- i’ve noticed that it’s a little buggy in some hard-to-pin-point-and-explain ways.
2- i don’t like the clunky new graphics for the toolbar.
3- personally, i liked having the extensions and such in the options menu as opposed to having menus of their own.
4- they changed the options in the download menu so instead of a “show” option, there’s something else (i can’t remember)…open or something. i like being able to jump to the folder instead of firefox running whatever it is i just downloaded
5- did i mention the shitty new graphics? and i haven’t found a theme that i liked more than the 0.8 graphics.
i don’t have anything against microsoft. but i’ve gotten more spyware as a result of using internet explorer. i’ve proven it a couple of times when i rebuilt my computer and used internet explorer to get things going.
any version of firefox is better that IE, but i think i’ll stick with 0.8. keep up the good work, mozilla!!

canned tuna has a shelf-life of 4 years. tune in the pouch (startkist flavor fresh pouch) has a shelf-life of 3 years! all of this is assuming no damage to the pouch/can.
