holy pop-up blocker, batman!! internet explorer just blocked a pop-up without the aid of any toolbar or 3rd party program! i updated my xp box at work with sp2 the other day, and the only difference i’d seen was the firewall (which i had to disable in 2 places, oddly enough).
i know there are many security patches that came along with the service pack. i wish a little more had been done with the browser, but writing and maintaining an OS is not child’s play. i might be more inclined to use IE with sp2.
wb microsoft. welcome the fuck back.
ps-wonder what happened to the talk of sp2 being “XP reloaded” and such since they weren’t really developing an upgrade for XP (with the development of longhorn well underway). anyone at microsoft have any info?! *wink*wink*

i appreciate what alice cooper means when he says that “rock stars who throw concerts to influence politics were treasonous,” and he clarifies his statement here.
rock = rebellious
rock != political messaged campaign trailing hippies (no offense to those guys)
i think it’s fine for a rock star to have his opinion and share it…it’s a free country. but that’s also what gives me the ability to agree with mr. cooper.

two things i learned today:
1. 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000 = ten thousand trillion heptillion
2. soyouwanna.com is a very interesting site–learned how to do my nails lol. and wasted the last hour of work perusing the other “so you wanna”s.

in searching for some mySql books, the 9/11 commission report book was in my “new books” section on amazon (a nice feature). might have to pick it up, though i’m sure i can find it on the intArwebz somewhere. there’s just something nice about reading a book.

here is a fascinating survey on some standards that some of the most highly regarded designers hold to. a very interesting study into how the “model” designers keep standards in mind and what kind of dissidence you find among them.
really cool…

here’s my latest piece of crap for my technical writing class. if you have any opinions or comments, feel free to rip into it. it’s all of a couple of hours of work…nothing big or fancy. just something to get me an A.
the hardest part about this project was actually keeping focused on doing it. the projects are never hard…it’s always difficult to keep my attentions on something that seems to have little value. at least the last project was doing a resume and shit.
