tail of mira

nasa has discovered that the start, mira, has a tail.  the tail is visible only in UV, so it wasn’t discovered until recently even though mira has been observed for 400 years. 

NASA’s Galaxy Evolution Explorer discovered an exceptionally long comet-like tail of material trailing behind Mira – a star that has been studied thoroughly for about 400 years. So, why had this tail gone unnoticed for so long? The answer is that nobody had scanned the extended region around Mira in ultraviolet light until now.

gratitude

i’m so happy with who i am right now.  i love where i am right now, as well.  i think that speaks strongly to the growth i’ve experienced in the past few weeks.  i’ve grown tremendously in my workout practice as my opportunities morph.  i’ve really enjoyed some serious private lessons, and as a result, experienced some growth by leaps and bounds i never thought i’d know.  the physical is translating directly to the philosophical. :) wonderful.

so i am thankful.

a small german company, Bärbel Drexel, has requested to use the photo featured in this post in a calendar that they are doing. i’m really excited to have a photo published! i won’t be receiving any payment, but will get credit on the photo and a calendar. i will post more info when i receive the calendar in a couple of weeks.
